Who maintains and repairs the meter?
The utility maintains and repairs meters and reading devices at its expense. You must maintain access to the meter and provide a location where it is protected from freezing.
Utility responsibility
The utility will maintain and repair meters and reading devices at its expense.
The utility will not maintain or repair any part of the plumbing apparatus connected to a meter.
Customer responsibility
You must:
- Maintain access to the meter for maintenance
- Provide a location for the meter where it is protected from freezing
Freezing damage
The utility will repair or replace a meter damaged by freezing at your expense.
Meter ownership
Meters and reading devices provided at the utility’s expense are utility property. The utility may remove them when service terminates.
You are responsible for the safekeeping of utility facilities on your property. You must take reasonable precautions against interference with the facilities.
You may not connect to, interfere with, or alter meters or other utility facilities on your property. You must pay for any damage to utility facilities on your property not caused by the utility.
