When you report a concern, we will:
- Document your report and assess urgency
- Check our system for recent maintenance or testing results
- Provide immediate guidance on steps you should take
- Schedule an investigation if needed
- Test water samples if appropriate
- Keep you informed throughout the process

If the issue is in our system, we’ll take immediate corrective action and notify affected customers as required by EPA regulations. If it’s in your private plumbing, we’ll provide guidance and recommendations.
EPA notification requirements:
If we detect any contaminant above EPA standards, we’re legally required to notify customers within specific timeframes (24 hours to one year, depending on severity). We’ll use multiple methods: phone, mail, media, website, and door-to-door if necessary.
Special considerations:
If you have household members who are immunocompromised, infants, pregnant, or elderly, please let us know so we can provide appropriate guidance. The EPA provides specific resources for vulnerable populations.
