Is the utility liable for damages from service interruptions?
No. The utility is not liable for damages from interruptions, shortages, irregularities, or failures due to accidents, acts of nature, interference by third parties, or other conditions beyond their control.
The utility will exercise reasonable diligence to provide continuous potable water under constant pressure. However, the utility is not liable for damages from interruptions, shortages, irregularities, or failures caused by:
- Accidents
- Interference by third parties
- Acts of nature
- Other conditions beyond the utility’s control
Notice of interruptions
Whenever possible, the utility will provide notice of interruptions through:
- Direct notification
- Notices posted here on this website
Credit for interruptions
If a service interruption lasts longer than 48 hours, you will receive a prorated credit of your flat monthly usage charges or flat minimum charges (for metered service).
- No credit will be given if the interruption was caused by customer damage to utility facilities
- No credit will be given for metered usage charges
