How much does it cost to reconnect service after disconnection?
Disconnections & Reconnections
For discontinuation at the keybox, you must pay all charges plus a turn-on fee. For disconnection at the main, you must pay all charges plus apply for a new connection permit and pay reconnection costs.
The cost depends on whether service was discontinued at the keybox or disconnected at the main.
Discontinuation (turned off at keybox)
To get service restored, you must pay:
- All delinquent charges (the amount you owed)
- All current charges (bills that came due while service was off)
- Turn-on fee: $122 (business hours) or $172 (after hours)
- Keybox repair costs, if the keybox needed repair (actual costs)
Service will be restored within 3 working days after you correct the cause and pay these charges.
Disconnection at the main (physically disconnected)
This is much more involved. To get service restored, you must:
- Submit a new connection permit application
- Submit a new application for water service
- Correct the cause of disconnection
- Pay all outstanding charges, including:
- Water usage charges
- Turn-on/turn-off fees
- Inspection fees
- Service deposits
- Unauthorized turn-on/turn-off fees (if applicable): $200
- Actual costs for disconnection at the main
- Pay the full reconnection costs within 30 days
