How many service connections can I have per property?

After the effective date of the current tariff, a service connection shall serve no more than one parcel (legally defined property), and no new service connection may cross a parcel line other than the property it’s intended to serve.

The general rule:

• One service connection per parcel is the standard
• Service connections cannot cross property lines
• Each parcel should have its own dedicated connection

Multiple structures on one parcel: If you have multiple structures on a single parcel, there are two options:

1. One service connection with branched service extension - One connection serving multiple structures through an approved branched extension, with you accepting responsibility for paying bills for each structure
2. Multiple service connections - One separate connection for each structure (with utility approval)

Exception for just cause: A structure may be served by more than one service connection if there’s just cause and the utility approves it. However, the service extensions to the structure must not be cross-connected or intertied.

If your property is re-subdivided: If an existing service connection becomes unusable due to a re-plat of the property, you (the property owner) must disconnect it at the main at no cost to the utility. A utility representative must witness the disconnection.
