How do I file a complaint about my water service?

Disputes & Problem Resolution

Call or visit the utility to file a verbal complaint. They'll respond within 10 working days. If you're not satisfied, file a written complaint to the general manager, who will respond within 10 working days.

Step 1: File a verbal complaint

Call the utility at (907) 222-4084 or visit in person. The utility will investigate your complaint and respond to you verbally within 10 working days.

Step 2: File a written complaint (if you’re not satisfied)

If you’re not satisfied with the utility’s response to your verbal complaint, file a written complaint addressed to the general manager with details of your complaint. Mail it to:

Unified Alaskan Utilities
Attn: General Manager
P.O. Box 233368
Anchorage, AK 99523-3368

The utility will respond to your written complaint within 10 working days. The response will tell you that if you’re still not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA).

You must file your RCA complaint within 20 working days of the postmark date on the utility’s written response. If you don’t file within 20 working days, the utility considers your complaint resolved.
