Can I set up a payment plan?
Yes, the utility may negotiate payment plans for past-due accounts at their discretion. Contact them as soon as possible if you're having difficulty paying.
The utility has the discretion to negotiate payment plans for payment of past-due accounts. This option can help you avoid service disconnection when facing financial difficulties.
How payment plans work:
- Available at the utility’s discretion (not automatic)
- Must be negotiated with utility staff
- Terms vary based on individual circumstances
- Must sign payment plan agreement
- Failure to follow payment plan can result in disconnection
When you can’t get disconnected: The utility will NOT discontinue service if:
- You’re unable to pay the full delinquent amount due, AND
- You’re in compliance with a signed payment plan, OR
- You’re in the process of timely negotiating a deferred payment agreement
Special circumstances: Extended payment time (an additional 30 days) may be available if:
- Your residence is occupied by someone who is seriously ill, elderly, handicapped, or dependent on life-support systems
- You provide notification to the utility
- Even after a disconnection notice has been issued, you can get a 15-day extension in these circumstances

How to request a payment plan: Contact the utility office immediately:
- Phone: (907) 222-4084
- Explain your financial situation
- Be prepared to discuss what you can afford to pay
- Act early - before disconnection notices are issued
